As you cruise around town, keep your eyes open — murals are popping up in new and unexpected places all the time. The most unusual of them all is the Whole Wall Mural at 130 E. 6th, home of the Cloud County Tourism office. It’s comprised of 6,400 oversized bricks--and 140 feet in length!
Here’s a fun twist: as a nod to the tiny, hard-to-find ladybug carved into the Whole Wall Mural, every other mural in town includes a painted ladybug hidden somewhere in the design. Think you can spot them all? Happy hunting!
Notes:
For America's 250th anniversary, Cheyenne Renee painted a mural in 50 towns across the 50 states. In Kansas, it was Concordia. The mural is located in city hall, 701 Washington St.
Mindy Allen was the artist for the "Welcome to Concordia" mural.
