
It's quite an experience, some say a bit eerie, to fish here and look across the lake at the Wolf Creek nuclear plant dome. One of the lake's purposes is to provide cooling water for the plant's generating station. Called the Crown Jewel of Kansas fisheries, this lake has one of the best predator-to-prey ratios in the country, allowing fish to thrive all year long.
