Cherryvale Historical Museum

Cherryvale, KS | Montgomery County

Inside this historic church building well-displayed items include WPA dolls and beautiful glassware and china. In a not-so-delicate display, you will see hammers used by the murderous Bender family in the 1870s. The Bloody Benders, as the family is called in hindsight, ran an inn near Cherryvale and killed a dozen guests, robbed them, and buried them in the backyard. The family escaped the law and was never apprehended.
