Caldwell Boot Hill Cemetery

Caldwell, KS | Sumner County

Near the entrance of Caldwell City Cemetery, a wrought-iron fence surrounds a small plot of old gravestones. A historical marker tells us the stones (but not the graves) were moved here from Caldwell's Boot Hill cemetery. The original Boot Hill contained 60 burials dating from 1871 to 1884, but the gravesites have long since been lost under farmland. The small replica cemetery adjoins the larger city cemetery, which encompasses many interesting gravestones.
