George Washburn was the architect for this very impressive 1908 Romanesque Revival courthouse constructed in red brick with limestone accents. Standing on the front lawn, the Freedom Memorial honors armed forces and home-front supporters. A replica Statue of Liberty is nearby, and Lady Justice holds a place atop the courthouse. (NRHP)
