Big Oak

Holton, KS | Jackson County

The Searles bur oak is so broad (its crown spreads more than 93 feet) you may wonder how it holds itself up! Experts think this tree was planted from an acorn between 1792 and 1817. It is reported to be the 11th largest bur oak in the state.
