BURGLER ALARM

Bank Robbery Alarm

Blue Rapids, KS | Marshall County

On the east side of the First Commerce Bank of Blue Rapids you'll find a very unusual robbery alarm. A sculpted, no-nonsense bulldog stands guard above the inscription, 'Always on the Job.' Manufactured by Bankers Electric Protection Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota, the alarm would sound outside when someone inside pushed a button. Painted red and blue, the old-time alarm was permanently turned off in the 1980s.
