American Woman's League Chapter House

Blue Rapids, KS | Marshall County

This 1911 one-story Arts and Crafts stucco house is evidence of a nation-wide organization founded in 1907 by magazine publisher Edward Gardner Lewis. He formed the League in an effort to increase subscriptions to his women's publications. By 1912 the League folded and a second organization, more concerned with women's rights, became the surviving entity.
