When you see the red Colorado sandstone house, you'll have found Red Rocks, the home of William Allen White (8 Wonders of Kansas - People) and family. White lived here from 1899 until his death in 1944. The house was built in 1888 in the Queen Anne style and White bought it in 1899. By 1921 the White family had converted it to its present Tudor Revival appearance. Red Rocks remained in the White family until 2001 when White's granddaughter Barbara White Walker and her husband, Paul, donated it to the State of Kansas.
