Just west of the dike is a 1926 graffiti-marked, Marsh rainbow double-arch bridge. Cross the bridge to enter the Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge, a large waterfowl management area noted for its diverse habitats that include wetlands, bottomland hardwood forests, grasslands, riparian areas, and agricultural lands.
