Completed in 1900, this Romanesque Revival building was designed by George Washburn, who is credited with many of Kansas' beautiful courthouses. Inlaid into the red brick at the south entrance is a plaque reading, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." A large rock-faced veterans memorial wall stands on the southwest corner of the courthouse grounds.
