WWII German POWs, orphan train riders, coal miners, and beehive kilns are just a few of the 24 Cloud County historical scenes carved into 6,400 bricks by artists Catharine Magel and Mara Smith. Installed in 2009, it is the longest sculpted mural in the nation. The Travel Information Center parking lot, U.S. 81 and 6th, offers a close-up view of the 140-foot-long mural.
