This half mile comprises the largest remaining wetland in Sedgwick County. It's a small remnant of an ancient and expansive wetlands complex that once extended to the McPherson Wetlands. Over time the area has been drained and to create farmland, but a few fragments, like this one, remain. The marsh is a nice stop for bird spotting.
