Old‑time farmers might have called a heavy rain a “toad strangler,” and it turns out to be the perfect name for this trail. With a natural surface and a quiet, creek‑side setting, the Toadstrangler Trail follows Cross Creek for more than half a mile near the southwest edge of Rossville. Midway along the route, you’ll cross a newly built wooden bridge that offers great views of the water and surrounding habitat.

For the easiest access and best parking, start at the trailhead at NW 46th and Rossville (Carlson) Road.
