This museum was established as a tribute to the Hugoton Gas Field, once the largest in the world. The gas well, drilled in 1945, is still producing, and vintage equipment is displayed at the well site on the museum grounds. Inside the museum, exhibits focus on American Indians, farming, and domestic life.
