St. Francis, the first church in the Diocese of Wichita, had its beginnings in 1847. The present church building was completed in 1884 in the Romanesque Revival style and has become an area landmark, noticed especially for its 79-foot-tall bell tower. Brochures inside the church foyer describe the interior and provide a timeline of area history.
