Completed in 1924, this Modern Eclecticism building has a beautiful third-floor courtroom. Everything is white marble'the jury box, witness stand, judge's bench, and lower portion of the walls. On the second floor, if the commissioners aren't in session, take time to look at the murals of Rooks County scenes painted around 1925 by a prisoner being held in the courthouse jail. If door is locked, ask for assistance at the county clerk's office. (NRHP)
