SANTA FE TRAIL

Rare Santa Fe Trail Marker

Lost Springs, KS | Marion County

A 2026 storm caused destruction of the superb Santa Fe Trail marker that stood here. After the plaque is refurbished and the stone re-set you'll be able to see the inscription on this monument erected in 1908 by the DAR. The rare and ornate bas relief brass plaque will read, "This marks the route of the Santa Fe Trail. Kansas City to Santa Fe 1822-1880."
