Tall cottonwoods surround the Pratt Education Center that Professor Lewis L. Dyche started as a fish culture school for KU students in 1913. The two-story brick building operated by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks provides a great opportunity to learn about Kansas wildlife through displays of live and preserved animals. A grassland exhibit explores wildlife common to different grass regions, and the 12 aquariums include fish species native to our state. Due to staff shortage, call ahead to verify hours.
