In the same pocket park as the book mural artist Kelly Poling has painted vignettes of past and present Tonganoxie including Chief Tonganoxie's lodge; Magdalena Bury, who platted the town; Danielle Boatwright, 1996 Miss Kansas and winner of TV reality show Survivor: Guatemala; and Kirby McRill, known around 1900 to have walked from Tonganoxie to Chicago in just over seven days!
