The Peabody Opera House, which once stood on this site, is where early-1900s orphan train children gathered and waited for their new families to claim them. Now a pocket park, it contains reminders of the past such as steps from the First Presbyterian Church and the stately clock that once stood in front of the Stroud jewelry store.
