OREGON TRAIL

Oregon Trail Nature Park

Belvue, KS | Pottawatomie County

Standing near the entrance, a silo has been painted with three scenes commemorating the Oregon Trail through this area. Thanks to Cindy Martin for this colorful art. Hikers may choose from three self-guided trails, which start at the circular garden. One includes a section so steep that a rope has been installed to help climbers. A great view rewards you when you reach the summit. Grasses and forbs along the trails are the same varieties as those experienced by Oregon Trail travelers.
