Completed in 1918, the Spanish-American War and GAR memorial gateway greets you at the park's north entrance. Bronze statues of a Spanish-American War soldier and a Civil War soldier stand atop the two impressive granite pillars. Inside this lovely 50-acre park, important features include the 1885 fountain, a 1935 WPA comfort station (restroom), a 1950 Statue of Liberty replica, and an outdoor Sound Garden sporting musical instruments of varying sorts for kids of all ages to play.
