Master Chef Jonathan and Elsbeth Murphy, along with their two daughters, picked up and moved from Oregon to Herington (population 2,050) and have now opened Murphy’s Kitchen at the Herington Airport. The interior is simple—red-painted cement floors and paneled walls—but the menu is all steakhouse comfort, made from scratch with their own recipes. Some come just for the pies or cake! The Murphys grow or glean whatever they can, bringing fresh, homegrown flavor to everything they serve.
