Mr. Ichabod (Washburn campus)

Topeka, KS | Shawnee County

Washburn University was named for its benefactor Ichabod Washburn. A bronze "Mr. Ichabod," the jaunty college mascot, can be found in the garden behind Thompson Alumni Center. Sculptor Mark Lundeen depicts the beloved character tipping his hat as his long coattails fly behind him.
