Two-thirds of the way down the main driveway of Sunnyside Cemetery, look on the right for three historic plaques in the Mason family plot. The first plaque states that Jappa Mason was a teacher of oil magnate Harry Sinclair, Walt Disney, and future world explorer Martin Johnson. A second plaque notes that Captain Richard Mason of the 16th Arkansas Cavalry was severely wounded on this spot in 1862, and a third plaque reveals that Richard Colbert Mason was an inventor of oil industry devices.
