Monroe Bailey, father of our state's 16th governor, Willis J. Bailey, founded the town, and in 1895 Willis had this meeting hall built for community purposes. The building features a double-slope roof, and the exterior walls incorporate distinctive lines, textures, and curved parapets on either side of the tower entrance. (NRHP)
