Rural schools in this area were known by nicknames: Lickskillet, Apple Pie, Pancake, Spunky Point, and Brown Jug. Local lore ties this school's moniker to a dog who licked a skillet clean. The school, now the meeting place for the Busy Bee Hobby Club, was built circa 1905. It's not open but you can walk around it and take pictures as much as you'd like!
