Abraham Lincoln once called Lawrence 'the cradle of Liberty,' thus the original hall (now gone) received its name in 1870. The current structure, christened Bowersock Opera House in 1912, has had many name changes and uses. Today historic Liberty Hall is a main venue for live performances and independent films. The renovated interior features a 37-foot grand vaulted ceiling accented with original chandeliers.
