Lee Richardson Zoo

Garden City, KS | Finney County

This 1927 zoo, one of the oldest still operating in the state, has numerous options for you to meet a variety of animals. You may drive the zoo's perimeter to view many exhibits or walk to the pedestrian exhibits. Nearly 300 animals are at home in modern, spacious enclosures with many animal enrichment activities. Watch playful North American river otters in the Kansas Waters exhibit, and enjoy close-up views of mountain lions, jaguars, and bobcats at Cat Canyon. The Wild Asia exhibit features lovely Asian animals, plants and architecture. From visiting the lemurs, sun bears and snow leopards to the African lions and Bactrian camels, your time at the zoo is both educational and entertaining. Accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, other features of the zoo include a full-size carousel, a miniature train for kids to ride and ample green space to bring a picnic and dine with the animals. Admission charge for perimeter drive, which closes one hour earlier than free pedestrian viewing.
