Last Indian Raid Monument

On the cemetery's north side a memorial commemorates the lives of the 19 settlers killed during the last Indian raid in Kansas in 1878. Their graves were the beginnings of this cemetery. A historical marker at the roadside stop beside the cemetery explains the circumstances of the raid.
