
From Jamestown, 1½ miles north on N. 40, 2 miles west on Vale, then north on N. 20 to reach the southeastern point of the refuge. This wetlands/uplands region contains numerous different shallow-water salt marshes, which present an ideal place for thousands of migrating water-fowl and shorebirds. The best viewing seasons are mid-February into May, and late August through November. Look for the helpful kiosks.
