Howard Benson Museum

Howard, KS | Elk County

Agricultural and local history exhibits fill several buildings that make up the Benson Museum complex, including a schoolhouse, cottage, and a 1920s service station with gas pumps and a red-tile roof. Start at the main museum building on Wabash, the town’s main street, where you can find the curator.

Also downtown is the Benson Doll Museum, home to Bertha Baumgertel’s collection of more than 3,500 dolls. Upstairs, there’s even a space for little girls to host tea parties, complete with a dress-up closet.
