TORNADO MEMORIAL

Franklin Community Park and Memorial Garden

Franklin, KS | Crawford County

May 4, 2003, will not be forgotten in this area. On that date a vicious tornado destroyed much of this tiny village. In the Franklin Community Park, a marker relates the tornado tragedy, and a plaque on a pecan tree explains the metal still wrapped and twisted around the trunk.
