HISTORIC BRIDGE

Fort Fletcher Stone Arch Bridge

Victoria, KS | Ellis County

A stone four-arch bridge built by the WPA in 1936 (and renovated by the county in 2003) lies just east of the Victoria and 320 Junction. Keep your eyes open for Big Creek, then look for the bridge arches beneath the road. The bridge is also known as the Fort Fletcher Bridge, named for the original location of Fort Hays, which was initially called Fort Fletcher before it moved to its current site in 1865. NRHP.
