This lonely cemetery was only active for about 8 years, from 1878 to 1886, when it was abandoned for lacking a clear title for the land. A granite monument in the cemetery provides additional background. Research by the public library determined the causes of death for those buried here were typhoid, diphtheria, meningitis, prairie fires, murder, and being run over by a wagon.
