During his 1936 western campaign trip Franklin Roosevelt stopped in Olathe where he addressed a crowd of 10,000 eager to hear about the New Deal, which promised relief from the Great Depression. Near the railroad tracks where Roosevelt made his stop, a marker tells more about the historic visit.
