Drive down any residential street near downtown to find beautiful historic homes, many on the NRHP, including the Harris-Borman House (827 Mechanic); the Keebler-Stone House (831 Constitution); and the Mrs. Preston B. Plumb House (224 6th), built by Carrie Plumb as a memorial to her husband, U.S. Senator Preston B. Plumb.
