CHISOLM TRAIL

Arkansas City Historical Markers

Arkansas City, KS | Cowley County

From the Cherokee Strip Museum, ¼ mile north on U.S. 77 to the roadside park. The first of three historical markers recounts the Cherokee Strip Land Rush, a second notes U.S. 77 as a Blue Star Memorial Highway (dedicated to those who served in WWII), and a third recognizes the famous Chisholm Trail (the early cattle drive route from Texas to Kansas).
