A sign at the town entrance announces that Muscotah is the home of Joe Tinker, the shortstop in the Chicago Cubs famous double play combination 'Tinker to Evers to Chance.' Playing from 1902 to 1916, Tinker was the Cubs' shortstop when the team won the World Series in 1908. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946.
