Belleville Post Office Mural

"Kansas Stream" is the title of this 1939 Section artwork by Birger Sandzen. The mural depicts a Republican River scene near Scandia. The Public Works Administration provided part of the funding to construct the 1937 post office and pay the artist. This is one of 22 post offices in Kansas with Section Art and together they made up the 8 Wonders of Art Finalist entry. (NRHP)
