Established in 1936, Winter Livestock is one of the oldest and largest independently owned cattle auction barns in the nation. A sale starts every Wednesday at 8 a.m., and visitors are welcome to experience today's cowboy culture. Winter Livestock was a finalist in the 8 Wonders of Kansas Commerce contest. The sale barn cafe is a dandy, especially for breakfast. Cafe hours, Monday-Friday 7 a.m.- 2 p.m.
