Thomas H. Bowlus Fine Arts & Cultural Center

Iola, KS | Allen County

The art deco aluminum accents and geometric shapes beautifully augment both the inside and the tan-brick exterior. Banker Thomas Bowlus' will made it possible to build and furnish this center as a gift to his hometown in 1964. Both a school and community resource, the building features permanent fine arts collections on the lower level and special exhibits in the Mary L. Martin Gallery. The large main auditorium hosts a variety of nationally known performers and local theatre troupes.
