Inside this former post office you are introduced to the area's most famous citizens—Alf Landon, Harry Sinclair, William Inge, Bill Kurtis, Vivian Vance, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and space-traveling chimpanzee Miss Able. The story of the nation's first night baseball game under lights, which was played in Independence in 1913, is told here, and sports fans will enjoy the international fishing lure exhibit.
