Chetopa Catfish Capital of Kansas

Chetopa, KS | Labette County

Record numbers of catfish are caught on the Neosho River throughout the year. Thanks to former Chetopa mayor Ron Wood, a large metal catfish from North Star Metal Works in Caney makes the perfect visual statement at the town entrance. A fishing pole hooks the giant fish next to the sign announcing Chetopa as the Catfish Capital of Kansas.
