A narrow blacktop back road takes you on a scenic route from Cottonwood Falls to the Chase State Lake entrance. To find the falls, from the dam on the lake's north end, walk ΒΌ mile to the east end of the dam and follow the primitive trail north to the falls. Depending on rainfall, when the water is flowing these step-ladder falls might be the most scenic in the state.
