Skewed Iron Truss Bridge
From 3rd, ½ mile west on Main (becomes River Valley), ¾ mile west on K-254, ½ mile north on Arapaho, 1¼ miles west on 15, then 1 mile north on Santa Fe Lake. If this 1928 West Branch Whitewater River Bridge looks a little out of kilter it’s because it is. It’s called a skewed bridge and is designed that way because the road and the river intersect diagonally, and the skew allows the bridge supports to be parallel to the river banks.
