Message on the Hillside

Message on the Hillside

From Park, ½ mile south on U.S. 283. As you leave Jetmore you’ll see stones on a hillside forming the words “Christ Died for Me.” In 1912 a crew building the county high school started to lay the stones, but only “Christ Died” was in place when the workers were called to another job. A Sunday school class finished the project two years later. In 1932, when a new highway was slated to run exactly where the message lay, a group moved the stones to their present location.
