Lane County Courthouse
The courthouse was built in 1931 of yellow brick with limestone trim in the Modern Eclecticism style. On either side of the main entrance two limestone bas-relief panels depict the town’s cultural heritage. They were sculpted by well-known Hays artist Pete Felten for the Dighton centennial. The courtroom is rich in historic ornamentation, boasting a large painting of a sod house created in 1961 by local artist Mary A. Bosley for the state centennial. A display case at the courtroom entrance contains items confiscated at an earlier time including alcohol (moonshine), drug paraphernalia, and weapons. Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
