Junction Park
From Center, 2 miles west on Main (U.S. 56). The Oregon-California and the Santa Fe Trails divided at this point as they continued westward across Kansas. It is estimated that 500,000 travelers including traders, trappers, missionaries, land seekers, and gold rushers passed through this one spot on their way west during the early 19th century. Learn more about this historic juncture at the interpretive kiosk, then walk the paved nature trail landscaped with the types of plants that early travelers would have encountered.
